Old News: Did anyone go to the Bunny Breakfast?
County Board Exchange will be Wednesday, August 16, 2017
About 30 youth are needed to participate so each club needs to recruit 3-4 youth 8th grade or above by June 1st. This exchange is an effort to help the Board understand the 4-H program and the educational opportunities available to youth. Selected 4-Hers should bring Fair Projects and Record Books to show the County Board Supervisors as well as information about trips and leadership opportunities they have experienced. I would like the County Board Supervisors to gain an understanding of how the projects and 4-H program help youth develop leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
7:45 am- 8:00 am Arrive and set-up projects and materials
8:00 am- 9:00 am Speak with County Board Supervisors about 4-H experiences while they enjoy a light breakfast
9:00 am- 10:00 am Sit with a County Board Supervisor during their Board Meeting and see how the County Board operates.
During the County Board Meeting, we will try to assign 4-H youth to sit with the County Board Supervisor that represents the district where they live. They can find this by looking at the County website at http://www.co.ozaukee.wi.us/701/County-Board. Look for a supervisor that has an address near their home. Then click on the district number on the left to see a map of the district to see if they are within their district. If they would like to learn more about their supervisor, they can click on the name and read about them.
Virginia Exchange Quick Fun!
Lisa Strong, a leader for the Chesapeake 4-H Livestock Club in Chesapeake, Virginia is in charge of the end-of-the-year slideshow each year. Wanting to do something special and different this year, she is trying to obtain a short cell phone video from at least one 4-H group in each state. It just needs to be a clip of our club saying “Hello, this is Jay Road 4-H Club from Ozaukee County in Wisconsin”. Let’s do it at the meeting! (We must remember to pause after beginning the video or it will cut off our words!) Please send to [email protected]
Want to Participate in State Fair?
Individual youth, ages 12-19, are encouraged to participate in the Activity Stations program at the 2017 WI State Fair. These stations feature hands-on activities for young Fairgoers. Interested youth are needed to lead Activity Stations, providing opportunities to further develop their leadership and communication skills while having fun! Those interested must complete the application and submit it directly to the State Fair by June 1st! Please see this website for more information and the application.
